  • Bulletin: IE8 and SolidWorks RSS news Task Pane issue (x64).

Δημοσιεύτηκε στις 21 Μαΐου 2009 admin Χωρίς Σχόλια

The problem has been confirmed and been reported to development under SPR 480083 on x64 operating systems. It is caused a by conflict between Internet Explorer 8 and the News Feeds in the SolidWorks Taskpane.

Until the issue can be addressed by development, it can be avoided with one of the following methods:1. Uninstall Internet Explorer 8 and install Internet Explorer 7 instead. SolidWorks will launch successfully afterwards.

    2. Turn off the News Feeds. Since SolidWorks does not start in this state, the option will have to be disabled directly in the Windows registry. Please use caution while working in the registry. The option can be found in HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\SolidWorks\SolidWorks 2009\General. Find «Show Latest News feeds In task pane» and change its value from «1″ to «0.»

    3. If installing SolidWorks for the first time on a computer, and no HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\SolidWorks\SolidWorks 2009\General key exists to modify, then download the attached registry file, and double click on it to automatically create the key disabled.

  • Bulletin: IE8 and SolidWorks RSS news Task Pane issue.

Δημοσιεύτηκε στις 19 Μαΐου 2009 admin Χωρίς Σχόλια

There is an issue with the RSS feed in the SolidWorks Task Pane when IE8 installed on x64 operating systems. This will cause SolidWorks to crash on startup. This issue is addressed with SPR 480083. As a workaround untill this issue is fixed and IE8 is supported by SolidWorks, turn off the RSS feeds in the Tools\Options area. For SolidWorks 2009 SP4, the feed will be turned off if IE8 is installed until SPR 480083 is fixed.
